Boyne Island has a multitude of activities to partake in and it acts as a gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef. You can access Heron and Lady Musgrave Island from Boyne Island, which are ideal for scuba diving and snorkelling. Tannum Sands is nearby and is ranked among one for the top spots in Australia for kite surfing. Our region is also well known for its great fishing and is host to one of the biggest fishing competitions in Australia, the Boyne Tannum Hook Up. Other activities include things such as sailing, kayaking, bushwalking, tennis, golf and many more.
There are 3 primary schools and 1 high school in the area. The city of Gladstone has even more.
